DFW-CHW ASSOCIATION STATEMENT ON RACIAL JUSTICE FOR THE AAPI COMMUNITY

March 19, 2021

CHW Advocates & Members,

Our hearts are with the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community as they continue to experience senseless acts of violence. We mourn the loss of 8 innocent lives in Georgia, and we grieve for the many individuals harmed across the country simply because of who they are.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic there has been a drastic rise in hate crimes against Asian Americans” (CityMatch). We ask you to stand with the DFW-CHW Association against all acts of violence. We have an obligation to denounce violence and discrimination, to engage with each other in solidarity, and to lift each other up.

It’s unfortunate we have to send this message again, but we will continue to promote social justice for all our communities.
