Healthy Community Food Systems

The Healthy Community Food Systems online training course introduces communities to improvements in the way they grow, share, and prepare food. Most food travels an average of 1,500 miles before reaching Texas plates, and healthy options aren’t always accessible. That’s why the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Sustainable Food Center have developed this course — to strengthen local food systems and improve health outcomes for Texans.
