Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) Cancer Advocate - Cancer Care Services, Fort Worth

Community Health Workers (CHW) will primarily be working out in the community with specific target populations. CHW's will work closely with medical providers, primary care teams, and other agencies to improve patient care and outcomes.CHW certification is not required. If they have the qualities Cancer Care Services will train and pay for the certification.

Bilingual CHW - Hispanic Wellness Coalition

HWC is looking for bilingual CHW support for a few months, on a part-time basis. HWC is taking education to the community presenting health topics as they relate to COVID and pandemic diseases. We anticipate mostly weekend hours but could be during the week as well. Sessions are presented at the convenience of the host location.

You will be responsible for connecting with churches, community centers, etc to build relationships to set up sessions and act at MC on event day.

Primary skills needed: computer and social media savvy

Pay is $25 per hour, with a maximum of 15 weekly hours. Spanish/English and Vietnamese/English speakers please.

Bilingual CHW - Baylor Scott & White

The Community Health Worker 2 is responsible for providing cultural mediation between the health care system, social services and the community. This position assists the community in gaining access to needed services and builds individual, community and system capacity by increasing health knowledge and self-sufficiency through a range of activities such as outreach, patient navigation, follow-up, community health education and information, informal counseling, social support, advocacy and participation in clinical research.

CHW - UNTHSC, Fort Worth

UNTHSC is looking for a community health worker who can help support project staff as a consultant during 7 school-based vaccination clinics in Fort Worth and Crowley, Texas from September 20th to December 1st. For each clinic the time commitment is 6.5 hours from 8am-2:30pm. A one-hour training session will also occur prior to the clinics.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The University of North Texas Health Science Center is collaborating with UTHealth School of Public Health on a grant aimed at increasing HPV vaccination among ethnic-minority youth in multiple medically underserved areas across Texas. Project activities include use of a social marketing campaign aimed at English and Spanish speaking parents and delivery of school-based vaccination clinics at public middle/high schools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Take part in mobile vaccination clinic activities. Tasks include patient check-in, monitoring adolescents after they have received their vaccinations, and data collection. 2. Provide vaccination education, including messages about HPV vaccination, to middle and high school parents, in English and Spanish.
3. Perform other duties as assigned.

May have to lift up to 25 pounds and must have reliable transportation (mileage will be reimbursed). Bilingual (English/Spanish) written and verbal communication skills are preferred.

CHW Instructor - UNTHSC, Fort Worth

This position is responsible for supporting the Community Health Worker (CHW) program director and helping to teach the Community Health Worker certification training. The CHWI must be approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to provide instruction and training in the core competencies to promotores or community health workers. This position is a one year, temporary position.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bilingual and Certified Community Health Worker Instructor with five (5) years’ experience.

Summary: Assist with infant mortality prevention and WIC outreach in the community. 

Minimum Requirements: Certification as Community Health Worker required or, in lieu of the certification, proof of at least 1000 cumulative hours of community health work services within the most recent three (3) years. Community Health Worker (Bilingual English/Spanish) - Los Barrios Unidos

The Community Health Worker is responsible for managing programs in the community that promote, maintain, and improve individual and community health; and assists individuals to adopt healthy behaviors.
